Color Harmony and Glowing Glazes in Watercolor NEW Exclusive to ARCC for Fall 2010
Bring your paintings from ordinary to extraordinary with an understanding of paint properties and color relationships. All paints are not created equal. Some are transparent, some opaque, some staining and non-staining, and some move more in water than others. By understanding the color wheel you will be able to make correct color choices and master layering "clean glazes" and avoiding "mud". You will be working on a multi-layered painting. Bring your paints so we can analyze them. Supplies included.
Saturday, October 9, 9 A.M.-2 P.M., Room FA 203, $55
Watercolor: Painting in a Path of Light NEW Exclusive to ARCC for Fall 2010
After many years of painting in a "dark path" and struggling with retaining a crisp painting I came upon this lesson. Most painters tend to over-paint their under-painting and lose too much white of the paper. Learn how to control your darks, keep your whites crisp, your painting fresh, and how to transition softly from dark to light. We’ll use primarily watercolor with a small amount of textured collage to create a stunning floral design in a "path of light". Materials included.
Saturday, October 30, 9 A.M.-2 P.M., Room FA 203, $55
